Shining on our stage: Our 2025 “State Dance Competition” Journey 💃🏻✨

Hi everyone! 🙌🏻

In 2025, we had an amazing experience at the “state dance competition”. We performed the Kandyan Dance in “Palaweladanaya”. This traditional dance, known for its graceful movements and vibrant costumes, challenged us to give our best. All our practice and teamwork paid off, and we proudly secured 3rd place in “Palaweladanaya”.🥉



We also performed the Low Country Dance in “Nanumuraya”. This energetic and rhythmic dance from the low country of Sri Lanka allowed us to showcase a different style and rhythm. Our teacher, Rajitha Sudarshani, guided us throughout, making sure we performed with confidence and perfection.


Unfortunately, we were unable to secure a place for “Nanumuraya” in the Low Country Dance category because we exceeded the given performance time and were disqualified from that item. It was disappointing, but we chose to stay positive and focus on our other performance. Thankfully, our hard work paid off as we won third place in “Palaweladanaya”. In the end, we embraced the moment, enjoyed our achievement, and created memories we will always cherish.

The highlight of our journey was receiving our award at “Nelumpokuna Stadium”. It was a proud and unforgettable moment for all of us, celebrating our hard work, talent, and the support of our amazing teacher.
